2026 Free Swim Lesson Program registration now OPEN!
We are excited to offer swim lessons again this year at Manson Bay Park! Please be advised that any lifeguards on-site this year are only overseeing the Free Swim Lesson program. Park visitors who are not actively enrolled and participating in a lesson are swimming at their own risk. Signs will be posted during lessons to communicate this. We are working diligently this season to build a sustainable program and hope to offer our regular Lifeguard program again next season! Please be patient with our staff as we navigate these changes. Thank you for your support and making water safety a priority!
Local hero Viki Downey established the original Free Swim Lessons program and ensured its overwhelming success. She also helped to establish the Lake Chelan Swim Foundation, which worked tirelessly to help fund the program and keep it free to anyone age 4+. Viki retired after the 2024 season and was deservingly awarded the prestigious Red Cross Hero Award. The Lake Chelan Foundation dissolved in 2026 after many years of advocating for water safety and supporting this incredible program.
